Business Meeting
Call to Order: Meeting called to order by Marilyn Polito, acting President, at 1905.
Attendance: Susan Carzoli, Julie Hensley, Marilyn Polito, Lauri Evans, Steve Wilbur and Diane Cassady.
Approval of Minutes from Previous Meeting: Marilyn Polito moved to approve the minutes, seconded by Susan Carzoli.
Treasurer’s Report: A balance of $1,233.10 in the checking account was reported by Diane Cassady.

| Diane Cassady reported that the gifts awarded at the Central Iowa ENA Conference have been sent to the recipients |

| The option of holding future Central Iowa ENA Chapter meetings at restaurants was also discussed. Julie Hensley stated that it has been a successful method of encouraging attendance in the past. The possibility of holding the November ENA meeting at a restaurant in Ames was discussed. |

| Marilyn Polito reported that there are no national ENA mailings or updates to share. |
|
| Everyone was reminded that the next ENA meeting will be: November 2, 2004 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. |
Julie Hensley reminded everyone to sign up for the ENA listserv available at www.iowaena.org and encouraged everyone to visit the website.

| Julie Hensley reported that the next Iowa ENA Newsletter will feature the ENA delegates from the National Convention. The plan is to have the newsletter sent out during Emergency Nurses Week in October. |

| Julie Hensley reported that the possibility of consolidating the six Iowa ENA chapters into three chapters is being discussed in order to create a more efficient system. Re-organizing the national ENA structure into a two-tier system is also being considered. |

| The possibility of having a review course for the CEN exam was also discussed. The course would be available to all nurses and would be sponsored by the hospitals in central Iowa. The concept of a review course will be posted on the Central Iowa ENA website to determine the number of people who are interested in the course. |

| It was decided that a patch of the new Iowa ENA logo will be sent to all Central Iowa ENA members during Emergency Nurses Week. The dates of the Central Iowa ENA meetings for the year of 2005 will be included; the locations of the meetings will be announced. |
Motion to Adjourn: Marilyn Polito moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Lauri Evans at 2000.
